HOW TO SURVIVE THE LOSS OF A LOVED ONE?

HOW TO SURVIVE THE LOSS OF A LOVED ONE?
11.05.2023

The last period was marked by appeals to the NIB Psychological Hub with questions: "How can it be? My beloved only daughter...", "How to survive the loss of my husband?", "How to survive the loss of my son?", "What should I do, please tell me"...

The answer may seem incompetent, but psychologists say: "Unfortunately, there is no way". This pain will stay with you. A psychologist can only help to make it weaker, to be there for you, to tell you how to survive the peak moments of unbearable pain, the moments when you are alone (for example, at night).

So, it is impossible to survive it alone. The question "Why my...?" will be with you all the time. The loss and emptiness without a son, daughter, husband, wife cannot be filled either. But...

- You must remember that the memory of your loved one will be a continuation of his or her life.

- His or her belongings are also memorials. If they cause pain, put them in a certain place. Or if, for example, your son or daughter had a room, leave everything as it was after him or her. Go there to talk when you feel sad. But over time, do it less and less, less and less...

- Talking about your loved one will ease your pain. At first, you will cry, you will not even be able to share the memory to the end, but later the story will become longer. After a certain period of time, you will be able to tell the whole story about your son, daughter, husband, or grandson.

- Never be alone. People are your salvation. Especially close, pleasant, positive friends, relatives who will not dismiss you, but will share your memories.

- If your loved one left behind children, this is a direct memory of them. Concentrate on the children, raise them with the fact that their father is a hero!

- If you are a believer, go to church and pray for the repose of his or her soul.

Unfortunately, neither our specialists nor doctors can take away the pain of losing a loved one. This is the pain for which there are no special medicines, vaccines, vaccinations or drips. It is a red-hot layer of iron in your heart that sparks with questions: "Why us?", "Why him/her?", "Why?", "God, why?".

And we will only answer in a stingy way: "Thank you for the courage and bravery of your son, husband, daughter, wife." And at the same time we will think: "Thanks to them, we live. You are a mother not only to your child, you are a mother to all of us!"

Thank you and a low bow!
