Today, on April 26, another prisoner of war exchange took place, with 44 Ukrainian defenders released. Most of them were fighting for Mariupol, while others were defending the borders in Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Sumy and Luhansk.
Six officers, 36 privates and sergeants and 2 civilians returned home. Among them are soldiers of the Armed Forces, the State Border Guard Service, the Navy, the National Guard and the Special Forces.

A large team is working on the release of the prisoners: The OC, the CSPPV, the GUR, the SBU, the MIA and other agencies.

As a reminder, the NIB is responsible for coordinating priority measures during the release. Together with the Ministry of Reintegration and the State Migration Service, we ensure the restoration of lost documents and help the released persons to receive one-time assistance from the state.
