On February 16, a special holiday is celebrated in Ukraine - the Day of Unity. The main goal of this day is to show the unity of the Ukrainian people against the background of the military threat.

As a result of cooperation and joint hard work, another exchange of prisoners of war took place today.
❗️100 soldiers and officers and one civilian returned home. This single civilian is Ivan Samoydyuk, the First deputy mayor of the city of Enerhodar. Mr. Samoydyuk was kidnapped by the occupiers in March of last year.

Most of the released military men are the defenders of Mariupol, others - Ukrainian defenders from the Kherson, Kyiv and Donetsk directions.

The return of our men took place thanks to the efforts of the Office of the President, the Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the National Information Bureau, the Security Service of Ukraine`s Joint center, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and other agencies.

We remind that the National Information Bureau provides social guidance for persons freed from captivity, and also provides them with primary assistance.
