07.03.2023
Today, March 7, another 130 of military personnel who defended our country were released from Russian captivity. Among them are representatives of privates and non-commissioned officers: 126 men and four women.

Many of those freed had been captured in Mariupol, in particular, they had been evacuated from "Azovstal". There are also those who defended our freedom in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

As always, the National Information Bureau coordinates the applying of priority measures to ensure the social protection of persons released from captivity. The Bureau also provides them with initial support immediately after release:
• organizes prompt phone communication with loved ones;
• provides basic necessities;
• assists in renewal of personal documents and bank cards;
• together with the Ministry of Reintegration, promotes obtaining appropriate social and legal protection and state cash allowance as a compensation for suffering the deprivation of liberty.

The exchange of POWs took place thanks to the efforts of the Office of the President, the Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the National Information Bureau, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and other agencies.

Our country continues to work for the return of each and every one.
